9|15 That God May Be All in All
Notes
Jesus is the true man who has succeeded where Adam failed. All things are already subject to him, and one day they will be fully.
Paul shows us the exalted Christ reigning at the Father's right hand, putting every enemy under his feet until even death itself is destroyed. This is the unstoppable advance of God's kingdom. The second Adam is fixing what the first Adam broke. Jesus is Lord right now. History is moving toward the day when God will be all in all, and every wrong will be made right.
If you're weary from a world that feels out of control, take heart — the King has already won.
"27 For “God has put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when it says, “all things are put in subjection,” it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. 28 When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all" (1 Co 15:27–28).
