13|15 Flesh and Blood Cannot Inherit the Kingdom of God
Notes
Our current bodies are perishable — suited for this broken world, marked by weakness, decay, and mortality. They cannot inherit the kingdom of God.But something better is coming. What is sown perishable will be raised imperishable. What is weak will be raised in power. What bears the image of the man of dust will one day bear the image of the man of heaven.Jesus has already gone ahead as the firstfruits. He secured a people for himself, and he will transform us — body and soul — so that we are fit for the age to come.
"I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable" (1 Co 15:50).
